I occasionally use my moniter for my ps3 nut i did not do it for a few months.
I use a hdmi to a dvi cable, and i know i have to set my ps3 out to 720p as 1080i/p is too high for my monitor
but yesterday i tried it with no luck the monitor new their was input but stayed black(it recognised their was a connection but just stayed black) and i could still hear sounds.
I set the setting to 540p (i think, the one lower than 720p) but had no luck.
I have tried holdig on the power button till it beeps, nothing happens.
Any ideas ?
Try connecting the computer via the HDMI port if possible and setting it to the resolutions. It may be either the monitor has decided to kick the bucket, or a loose connection or cable fault.
The same problem happens to me. I've tried using two hdmi cables yet on my PC monitor it says signal error although it does recognise it. Any ideas?
Yeah it works fine with that.
I am using a Eizo Flexscan S2111W monitor that supports HDCP but when connected I get a signal error but it is definately recognized because when I turn off the ps3 it goes away.
The last thing I can really suggest is setting the resolution on the PS3 as low as it goes (576i, I think), but if that doesn't work then you may want to check the manufacturers site and see if there's anything there about issues with connecting to the PS3.
