When i try connection test it fails @ playstation network but when i turn my ps3 on it signs in ok but when connection test it signs me out it obtains ip address an internet connection and when it gets to playstation network it fails and the messge says "the connection with sony entertainment network timed put" but it doesnt continue the test

If you do the speedtest I might be able to help you. Try the netbook on http://speedtest.net/ or use your iPod and try on the app and let me know. It may be a problem with your line. (Especially as the 360 also has issues)

what was the ping and upload?

Its was 0.34mbps for upload and for ping it was 149ms and the server was in liverpool

That sounds like there may be a problem with your line. If I were you I'd contact your broadband provider and ask them if they can check for faults. If they find and resolve any they find, that could substantially boost your internet speed and should resolve the problems you're having.

 Those speeds are really very slow, and not at all suited to online gaming at all.

 I just ran the same speedtest and got this back, so their server is working alright.

iv been having the same problem for about a week i just ran the conection test and i got this

I was having the same problem, but I changed  my firewall setting on my modem and now I can log into playstation network!!!!

Just Got This Now Was Online Playing Battlefiled Untill I Got SIgned Out And Got Told Connection with Sony Entertainment Network  Timed out Just Though The Network Went Down Or Something

If you've just had the issue once then you're probably best trying to log in again and seeing if that works. Btw, if you click this link, you can add a signature so you don't need to put it in your post
