I spoke with Sony and they say its all Virgin media users, Which i'am
Virgin have blocked or done somthing last night which is blocking PSN.
Virgin say they are fixing it, but as you have to speak to someone in "India" it could be days.
What a pain, If Virgin can't fix it they may find all PS3 customers linke me moving on!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for your message. Funnily enough I am with Virgin Media so it seems you might be right. If that is the case if its not put right in a couple of days I will take my business elsewhere ! Thanks again.

Thanks to everyone, my problem is now solved (for the time being) - my ISP (Virgin) were working on something which affected my PSN but now working okay, I just wish they would inform you that there might be knock on effects to certain works they are doing, it would save us a lot of time and worry trying to work out whats wrong with your Playstation and network.

hi i am getting the same code and also getting error code 8002A548, but im with BT??????
its been like it for months and ps say its my internet connection but i can browse the internet through the ps but cant log into the ps network. if anyone knows how to solve this then they are a tru legend!

hi tryed to sign in last night and came up with this code tryed it today and same what do i need to do?
can get on internet brower but cant sign in and cant get on PSstore

Having a nightmare.
Will sign in when starting up but once I load a game to go on-line (currently COD Black ops) I get signed out and can only get back in if i take the game out of the console!!!

Cannot connect to the Internet or PlayStation Network (i.e., signing-in, accessing account settings, trying to connect to a game online, accessing or purchasing from PlayStation Store, etc.). This may be caused by scheduled maintenance or issues with your Internet connection.
Solution
- Please visit the PlayStation Blog or the PlayStation Forums to check on the status of PlayStation Network.
- If there is no server maintenance, from the XMB go to [Network] > [Internet Browser] and attempt to access any website. If you are unable to access a website using the PlayStation 3 Internet Browser, there may be an issue with your Internet service. Please contact your Internet Service Provider for help with your Internet connection.

I'm getting the same error message but I'm with Optus. It's been happening since about 12:30 this afternoon. It did require a software update when I switched it on but... I can browse the Internet and I can sign into PSN for a bit, but if I try to enter any games or PS Home it boots me out.
EDIT As a matter of interest... I have no ports forwarded that I know of on the router and it's been working fine up until this point. Does it really need to be done?

hi there i got the same problem here at los angeles california same code 80710092 but i do have access to the internet thru the playstation 3 browser but everytime i try to sign in to the play station store the code 80710092 displays so this mean the server is down for the time i dont have any problems with my wireless connections i have try other wireles divices such as a ipod touch or my android phone and it works perfect dam it this a real pain in the *****
