not only can I not sign in but I can't play any games on the thing, this trophy sync thing comes up and stops the game i'm playing.  Not happy sony, how about an explanation at least

Like a few peeps have said.... It must be an error with the date and time settings....

Soon as I boot, I go to the settings and..

The system date and time reads: 31/12/1999 23:56

You cant even manually input that date into the console!!!!

Try changing and restarting... it resets everytime.

good point. just realized that. i reside in California.current time is 9:58 PM Feb 28, 2010 and its showing something else

Lol. Just got the message... In a way a lil glad this is not just me... this is like the 4th ps3 I've had due to my others going ***** up. Now I can't sign in to psn network... what a load of testi's. All going the way of the pear Sony! Pull your finger out.. and SORT THIS NOW!! Anyone for scrabble? lol

I am in Cali too.  I went to start a game up and got the trophy error, then the PSN error message.  I was trying to track down the time frame of the problem origination but it appears that all the posts on this thread have the wrong date and time stamp on them.  This happened to me around 3:00pm 02/28/2010 and I am posting this message at 10:05 pm on February 28th 2010.

Also, from what it sounds like, this is not the first time this has happened and it is not just affecting online gamers.  It is accross the board.  Many people are trying everything they can to fix it, losing data and patches of hair, to no avail.  Perhaps the solution is to wait for the solution.  Just a thought.  That's my plan for the time being, but that is not a long term solution.  If this is not fixed and soon then I suggest some sort of petition be started to demand improvements be made to the system.  I know that if they do fix it and it happens again somebody is going to get a great deal on a PS3.
