The problems started when trying to sign into the Playstation Network. Was automatically signed out with Code Error: 8001050F. I tried to log in for a few days with the same problem.
I left it for awhile and have recently tried logging in. It has registered that a new update is required. I go through the accepting of the terms and conditions and it successfully downloads the new updates. The problem is it gets up to 16% of the install and comes up with the Error Code: 8002F147. It then attempts to install again and stops at 16%. It then asks to be restarted and I try the whole process again with the same results.
I have dissabled my Media Servers.
My playstation is connected wirelessly to my internet connection.
My playstation is out of warranty.
Can someone please help
Have just tried downloading UPDATE 3.30 onto PC then putting onto a thumbdrive and updating PS3 that way. Still installs to 16% and no further.
I can not get onto the Playstation Network without it.
Please any ideas at all
What MIGHT be worth trying:
turn PS3 off
take out HDD
turn PS3 on - it will complain that no HDD is found
turn PS3 off
put drive back in
disconnect PS3 from network - probably easiest way to do this is turn your router off
put USB stick into PS3
turn PS3 on
select system update, from USB
let us know what happens
I did exactly what you suggested but still wont get past 16% of System Update 3.30.
I restorted to restoring the system and the same error occurs.
Am feeling very dissapointed with my PS3.
it MIGHT be worth trying to get into safe boot mode, and choosing option 3.

can you also double check the date and time the PS3 is displaying? The 50F error was the one we all got for the leap year issue.
There were no error messages when i restarted with no hdd but made a few beeps and nothing came up on the screen.
When I did the safemode start it went through the process of fixing a corrupt hdd.
Checked date and time and both are what they should be
hey guys, just reading through your conversation and noted we have had the exact same issues with our PS3. Much like you we have spoken to Sony Tech Support and as you kindly put it, they were absolutely no help. Diddo again, our playstation is out of warrantee and beginning to wonder if this is a ploy by Sony to get more money. After a little research on line and the number of people that have this very issue after their warantee expires is huge. Error code 8002F147... is just a pain in the butt. Sony!!! You have to do something about this error code.
Have yet to find a solution. Will keep you posted on the progress. Good luck and let us know if you find a solution other then paying sony more money to fix a problem that is their doing>
