hey i just got FFXIII today and i started playing it and every single cutscene messes up, they go all sketchy and they get black lines going through them and go all laggy, i have one of the old 60GB models and ive heard that alot of those models have the same problem with this game, my warranty is expired as well because this is the first problem with it ive had so far

is there anything i can do to fix this??

i have the same problem *got the fat PS3 with 40GB*.

I had no problems until i started FF13.... after 2h of playing my troubles started. 1) freezing 2) after freezing and restarting the PS3 it cant find the FF13 CD 3) the best part is that now all my games starting to freeze after some minutes *its random sometimes i can play longer*

I tryed most everything, i format my HD allready, using 3.15 version and so on but still i have the same problem. Even my friend has the same problem and he has a *Fat PS 60GB version*

i got to chapter 11, and it started to happen to me as well, now my ps3 crashes after 10 mins play time on any ps3 disk.

I'm having the same problems as you with FF13 (I'm using a 250gb Slim). Its probably the game's fault, but hopefully a patch will be released.

40gig Phatty. Played until the middle of chapter 4 froze once worked for an hour then froze again, now it cant find any game when put into the drive..

I have contacted both Sony and Square Enix both put the problem back on the other company however Square Enix seemed much more apologetic (opinion).. It is possible that the Graphics put a strain on the entire system because i have heard of extreme heat being let off through the vents but havent truly experienced it for myself. Im very worried that i will have to buy a new system because im on a fixxed income so it will take quite some saving...

Personally I hope that one of the companies take notice, then responsibility and make a patch or send out some software to fix the issue.. FINGERS CROSSED!! but im starting to save up today

i wont be buying a new system one of them r to blame and need to take responsibility for it, sony would blame square enix but i've been having problems since there the psn went down in feb 2010.

yeah im having the same problem as you guys ff13 keeps freezing in odd places and when i restart the system ps3 doesnt see the game until i eject it and put it in again.  i think this is a fatty ps3 problem as no one with the slim is having similar problems.  square-enix denied any problem with the game and sony denies any problem with their system so i suggest everyone who is having this problem complain to both companies and they might actually work out a patch

i completely agree, but now my ps3 freezes on all games, it starts with music or character voices cutting out, if this happens when i get to a cut or loading screen it crashes, it wont even let me quit or turn off my ps3.

I'm having the same freeze issues with my 80GB fatty, the first run on non-backward-compatible systems. Biggest issue that I wasn't able to bypass by restarting was the beginning of chapter 6 cutscene. I replaced the disc, same issue. So tried my disc and game save on a friends system, original run 60GB fatty, worked fun, was able to get to save point and save past the cutscene and brought it back to my system and worked for a few hours and froze again. restarted and worked fine. So it's either a system issue or there are save files/game info on the system conflicting with the game. Hope Sony/SE takes this serious. Will probably call them both after work.
