stuck mw in, installed. 2 mins later games frozen, no YLOD tho, ejects disk no worries.

But now it wont play dvds or any other games, does it sound like the blue rays packed in??

Did you have to switch it off at the back of the console when it froze?

Just curious because mines stopped reading discs after it froze loading something up (not MW2 though).

yeah, ds3 wouldnt let me bring up the menu to quit...

Bit of a bump here, +100000 to Sony customer service, thanks Dave!!

After a bit of back an forth, to-ing and fro-ing, things have finally been resolved.

I need to also mention the Sony Center where i bought my PS3 were willing to go 50-50 on the cost of the repair!!

All is good in the world again!

I know im bumpin this again, got my new PS3 today!

Now its asking me to update to 3.15, wonder what it was before they sent it.

Might be worth asking if your getting a refurb what version is on it, so that when you get it you have a ruff idea of how long it will take to update, no biggy i guess but still might be worth asking!
