Having trouble copying saved game data to usb flashdrive

I have the usb hooked into the PS3 but everytime I try to copy stuff over to the usb all I can do is copy to the online storage. Im not a PS+ sub so I cannot do that. Anyone know whats the problem?

Has your USB-hub ever worked well with the PS3?

I suggest connecting the USB stick directly to a PS3 USB port, not via a hub.
Also, ensure your USB stick is formatted to FAT32 file system.

I just figured it out. Some files are "copy prohibited". I was trying to back up my save data from BF3 because im about to do a system restore. Is there anyway I can copy it?

Full backup & restore to same console.

You cannot individually copy a protected save without PS+ online storage.
