Re: Help

Sounds like the ps3 firmware is corrupt. Have you changed the hard drive on the ps3?

You're best off downloading the firmware from the PlayStation website and transferring it to the PS3 via USB using the correct folder layout. Do you know how to do that?

I'll walk you through if you need it, I'm just making lunch atm :smileytongue:

Re: Help

Hey!

The hard drive is really easy to swap actually, but we'll leave that lesson for another day :smileywink:

 To update the PS3:

  • Click this link and download the Firmware Update file on the page.
  • Plug in a USB flash drive and make sure it is FAT32 formatted and has enough space.
  • (You can format it as FAT32 by right clicking and choosing "Format" on it in my computer provided it is less than 32GB. This will wipe the drive though)
  • Create a folder on the drive called "PS3", and within that, create another called "UPDATE". Both of which are case sensitive
  • Put the update file inside the update folder and wait for the transfer to complete.
  • Stick the USB drive in the PS3s USB port and power on the machine. It should recognise the update and install :smileyhappy:
