Your internet works fine because your router settings are fine, the settings on your PS3 Network Settings are incorrect. As stated before you need to update your DNS settings (on your PS3) as the ones you have posted for Primary and Secondary are invalid.
Under Network settings change your DNS to either your Router which is 192.168.1.254 as you posted, or alternatively set it to either your ISP's DNS or a public DNS such as google DNS which has also been given in an earlier post.
DNS is a key element in with world of the internet, without it you won't get far.

Hi sim_addict,
Often a simple router reset will correct this issue. Switch off your router and leave it for 5 minutes. Turn it back on and re-do the Internet connection settings on your PS3.
You may also find this trouble shooting guide on wireless connection issues useful.
Please let us know how you get on in this thread.
Cheers,

Well there's good news and there's bad news.
The Good news I ran a system update with the settings:
IP address: 192.168.1.102
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
MTU: Automatic
Default Router: 192.168.1.254
Primary DNS: 192.168.1.101
Secondary DNS: 192.168.1.254
I entered my password and it said I should accept the t's and c's...which I did but then it took me back to the main interface.
The bad news? When I went back the following morning to switch my machine on I signed in again and this time it simply said "The Sony Network has timed out"
No error code. just basically Sorry you are too slow.

As has already been posted above, I strongly suggest you change your DNS settings on your PS3.
It will probably fix most of the errors you get.
Re-do the network settings on your PS3 and use 8.8.8.8 for the primary DNS and 8.8.4.4 for secondary (these setting are for DNS provided from google).

I can see your problem straight away your default router settings is completely wrong i would do a complete network setup on automatic write down the details and then setup the details again manually but use the primary and secondary DNS posted above.
