I keep knocking but I can't get in

As implied by the famous song...Since filling out the registration I have yet to get past the "Sign in" screen on my PS3. At first it said the PSN is undergoing Maintenance so I assumed I registered at a bad time, then about a month ago when I tried to sign in it said I needed to update my systen (which I did) and thought  YAAY I can finally connect. but no :smileysad:  tried again today and it said "The Playstation Network has timed out" after saying that I need to check my Network settings.

I go to Network Settings and goto Test Connections  it says:

Obtain IP Adress: Succeeded

Internet Connection: Succeeded

Playstation Connection: Failed

It also says the sign-in ID( e-mail address) or password is incorrect.

I have changed the password twice and used them both to sign in on my PC, even before writing this post.

So in desperation here is my settings list:

Internet Connection: Enabled

Connection Method: Wireless

Signal Strength: 100%

SSID: wlan-ap

BSSID: 00:04:ED:smileyvery-happy:4:2E:63

Channel: 5

Security: None

Address settings: Automatic

IP Address: 192.168.1.100

Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

Default Router:  192.168.1.254

Primary DNS: 192.168.254

Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0

Mac Address A8:E3:EE:37:smileyvery-happy:2:43

MTU: 1392

Proxy Server: Do Not Use

UPnP: Not Available

NAT Type: Failed

Why am I not being signed in?

Yes I have tried signing in but it just says Playstation Network has timed out. The internet browser works but when I try Googling the PSN Homepage it says 404 Page not Found

Where are you getting your DNS from, they are incorrect going by the settings you provided.

Either chance your DNS to 192.168.1.254 for both primary and scondary or set it to your providers dns or an alternative such as google DNS.

Although possible , your MTU also looks out of place, it tends to be 1492 or 1500 for most providers, again, it is possible that it's that, just saying.

This. Your primary DNS shouldn't be the same as the default router. Try using: 8.8.8.8 for primary and 8.8.4.4 for secondary.

Registering an account does not alter any settings on your Router or Network Settings on the PS3.

That's the reason I don't understand why it keeps telling me to check my network settings. The only thing that says Fail on my Connection Test is the Playstation Network itself. There is nothing wrong with my internet just the Playstation SIte
