My 60gb old ps3 has bit the dust, and i've been given a new 160gb slim one.

 

Is it possible to access the game data on the old HDD by inserting it in the new ps3 and transfering it to a usb device, then copying that to the new HDD?

You will need to have the original PS3 working to retrieve any data as soon as you put a foreign HDD from one system into another system it will force a format and erase any data.

old one is dead as.

 

Ah well looks like ive lost everthing thanks to that 4.00 update!
