Maximum power that can be supplied to usb devices problem

My USB flashdrive, which is compatiable with PS3 doesn't seem to be working on my PS3. It works on my Dad's PS3 slim perfectly. The LED light in the USB stick just flashes. It may work once but if I try to use it say 20 mins later it says maximum power. I don't have any third party devices (everything is official) except my Turtle Beach - but I've unplugged that and the stick still fails to show up. I've tried using 4 different flashdrives and they still don't work. My ports aren't screwed as I can still charge my controller and use my turtle beach (wired)

It's a real pain as I want to import my custom music for NBA 2K12. Any suggestions? Finally, Ive tried to format them and it still doesn't show up. There is nothing wrong with the flashdrives as they work on my dad's PS3.

Hi bridgelad98,

Can you confirm the model number of your PlayStation 3?

Cheers,

Have you turned the power off all USB devices? (even official ones)

Yes I have, Turtle Beach, PlayStation keypad. Even tried deleting them from the system.

Depends on what device is. For wired ones they should just need unplugging.

For some reason I can't delete my Turtle Beach from the system. I have unplugged it but USB flashdrive doesn't come up. It works fine on my Dads but he only uses a PS3 controller. Maybe the power unit for USB devices is faulty in my PS3?

Hmm, so do you not have this problem when the DS3 and TB headset are plugged in?
