hi, just searched through the forum and couldnt find anywhere that answered my specific question, apologies if its been answered already. so here it is.
been playing mw2 since release day online and not had any issues. over the last week or 2 ive had a freezing issue while either at the end of an online game when the scores come up or just before loading screen in the online lobby. controller becomes unresponsive and the only way to do anything is to reboot by pressing the power button. the problem was intermittent at first but since then it happened almost every time.
now i cant even play the game, whenever i boot it up i get the error message 'couldnt read trophy information 8002291A'. and then get a forced restart back to xmb menu.
ive searched other unofficial forums and theyve suggested deleting the save game, deleting the update info, redownloading the update info and trying that. i did and it didnt work. ive synced trophy information without a problem with friends also.
ive just tried it before i wrote this out and downloaded a new software update for the game, v1.08. it at least let me boot up to go online, but i still got the freezing issue just before loading screen. i then tried to play the game and got the usual trophy information error message.
i dont know what to do next. i dont really fancy starting a new ps3 username, however i play mw2 a lot and am suffering from withdrawal symptoms!!!!
any ideas or information would be greatly appreciated!!
paddy
btw using software version 3.15 ps3 60gb.

2 fixes
1.delete mw2 patch
2.this should fix it TUT
1.turn of ps3
2.turn on but hold down the I/O button
3.when it turns of lift ur finger then hold it down again
4.u should hear 2-4 rearly fast beeps
5.lift ur finger,it should say 2 put ur cotroller in wired
6.chose option 3 this mend corrupt data (and u wont lose any thing for doing it)

ive tried both of those and still had the trophy issue. so i signed up a new psn username and STILL had the trophy error code, even though the new username hadnt earned any trophies?!?!?!
so i reformatted the hard drive, which took nearly 4 hours. when i log in on my normal psn username, the trophy issue is still there so i cant access the game at all, there is a forced end. when i sign in on the new udername after formatting the hdd there was no trophy issue but im still getting the freezing.
its really narkin me now. ive also tried rebuilding the database, and everything else too. not only n ow have i lost all my data the game STILL wont bloody work.
any ideas, cuz im all out?

might be ur disk though mw2 is causing alot of problems for the ps3 like the ylod because of how it uses the graphics,Basically the ps3 has two chips for graphics and iw thought it would be a good idea to make 1 do all the work so it breaks!

yer tell them its defective and i wont give u trophys
just as a note is there a scratch because a m8s cod disk scratched and it caused his ps3 to crash on block and over grown might be the same with trophies on mw2
