My MW3 crashed yesterday in the middle of a game online, then I restarted, now it freezes and jitters, then it wont read any discs!!!

I have done all resets etc!!! MW3 has basically killed me ps3!!! only had it 6 months after a YLOD on the old model

The same thing happened to me. i was playing mw3 then went off the ps3 for a while and when i went back on it wouldn't read the disc, i've tried other disc's and they didn't work either, then i tried dvd's but they wouldn't work. i even tried restoring my ps3 deleting everything plus my account and had to make a new account. i demand to know whats going on and my ps3 was working fine 1 minute and the next its not. i would likw to know whats going on! daniel in ireland.

Disc drive has probably broke, it would have happened with any game - you just happened to be playing MW3 at the time

You could call up sony customer support for a repair, they should be able to help you out

I know the write answer.Your disk roller thingy is not going fast inuf for it to read the disk.    Write back..

Ok same happened 2 me. sounds wierd but this works . SO you take the mw3 disc and almost put it in the disk drive but not all the way. it will attempt to take it in but it wont. do this 3 times and then an error will appear on the screan. then hit agree and its fixed.

Mine is acting really weird. since I got mw3 the game has always gotten disc read errors during the intro scene, thinking it was the disc I had it exchanged not once but twice, same problem, now in order to even play the game my ps3 has to warm up I guess you'd say, but even than I have to insert and eject the disc several times before it'll read it, just this morning I spent 25 minutes trying before it finally let me play if I turn off the ps3 for any amount of time I have to go thru the process all over again. now the problem is occurring on all of my  newer games particularly the ones with the newer ps3 logo etched on the bottom/center of the disc (COD/BO, MW3, nascar 2011, arkim city etc...) however all of my older games (Madden 10, MW2, FFXIII, Bayonetta etc....) all work without fail. I don't understand why it should make a difference but it does, someone please explain this to me if possible.

Well I just had that problem I resolved it in a weird way. I am deleting a demo then inserted the game and it worked not sure if it will work for you but it dosent hurt to try

Every single game worked fine until Black Ops come along and wrecked my hard drive. Then when MW3 come along, kit worked for a week. then it took about an hour (NO JOKES) for it to come up. Today it was working, then i went on it after and it dident work. Before when i put in a game i dident go on in a while works but other old games like COD4, WAW, MW2, FIFA 10 and AC Brotherhood, they dident work. So I'm gonna try Striker__34__'s way.

I talked to a specialist and he fixed it but every time I turn on my ps3 I have to do the same thing that he told me to do about 3 times and then it works
