Auto-suggest helps you quickly narrow down your search results by suggesting possible matches as you type.
Normally this is caused by your audio settings changing to surround sound settings. If the sound is outputting from your TV (stereo source) then check your audio options. If you have 5.1 or above on any settings untick the box. You only want stereo 2.0 ones ticked.
Reason you get background sounds is because they are sent to the left and right channels (which you have on your TV) whilst voices are generally sent to the centre channel, (In a surround sound setup) which you don't have on the TV. So if your audio is set to 5.1 and you've only got stereo speakers then that centre channel is lost, hence no voices.
