PS3 SONY BRAVIA Sync problem

Hi!

i own a PS3 slim 120GB and a sony Bravia TV. up until update 3.15 i could use the remote control of my TV to access the PS3 menus.

After  the update (3.15) (done yesterday, 13/12) when i press the "Sync Menu" button on my TV remote i get the message "No HDMI control devices".

Anyone has the same problem? and how can i solve this?

Please use plain text.

Re: PS3 SONY BRAVIA Sync problem

Hi my friend and thanks for taking the time to answer me!

I just talked to PS3 support and they said it's a known bug!! Not all the consoles have this problem, it's random.

I'll have to wait for the next update for a fix. (the question is, why release something without proper testing!?!)

Of course this is unacceptable, as Sony encourage us to always have the latest updates, which in many cases creates problems rather than solving!

again thanks for your time :smileyhappy:

Re: PS3 SONY BRAVIA Sync problem

What's the model number of your Bravia? Maybe it's just a specific model.

Re: PS3 SONY BRAVIA Sync problem

I am having the same problem I have a Bravia kdl37w5500 and new PS3 Slim. I have switched the HDMI on and tried resetting to factory settings but nothing works.  It keeps telling me that no HDMI devices are connected.  Come on Sony these to Sony products should be seamless and this problem appears to have been around for some time based on other discussion forums I have looked at.  when can we expect a fix.

Re: PS3 SONY BRAVIA Sync problem

the slim (only) PS3s have an option somewhere (XMB, settings, somewhere I guess) to turn on and off the 'Bravia Sync' function.

It may be worth checking your setting there, and switching it off / on?

* YLOD? * *PSN Connection Problems?* *Blu Ray Problems

And we weren't even testing for that..

Re: PS3 SONY BRAVIA Sync problem

i have exactly the same problem with a 32W5500 "no hdmi devices control".

It has worked once when i install first the ps3. i upgrade the ps3 to firmawe 3.15, and now it not work.

All option "HDMI control" are ON on tv + ps3.

It seems that this problem only happens for W5500 series ?

[ Edited ]

I own a kdl-52W5100 and everything was working great until update 3.15, so i don't think the model of TV matters. I just hope they fix it very soon.

Re: PS3 SONY BRAVIA Sync problem

Hi

I unplugged ALL hdmi cables on my 46Z5500 and plugged in the ps3 slim and then Bravia sync worked again. As soon as you plug in another hdmi cable the sync vanishes... It seemes for me, that it is a TV problem, but sadly - I have the latest firmware installed on my Z5500(1.730EA)
