I even tried my external hard drive on it and it doesnt work. The light on the usb stick flash but its not recognized by my ps3. All this usb sticks works fine on my laptop. Re: PS3 Slim Not reading USB Memory Sticks :( Help!

this prob wont help if it doesnt recognise your memory sticks at all

but you need to create folders on the sticks to put your stuff in?

the top folder needs to be called PS3

then inside that got stuff like SAVEDATA, MUSIC etc

sorry if thats no help

As tablemuncher ( ? :smileysurprised: ? ) says if your looking for say a music file as an example - go onto music icon on XMB you should see a usb icon somewhere there press triangle on it and select display all.

Should show all files on the usb stick.

Ok bud can you plug in another USB device eg charger cable and see if the USB ports are working, it could be you have a broken port. If you say the SUB stick worked on your 60gb then you should not need to format your Pen drive. Pop back and let us know how you get on

Take it back to shop if it is still a brand new. Probably faulty USB slots.

Re: PS3 Slim Not reading USB Memory Sticks :( Help!

Hi, thanks for the tip. The USB charger cable does work on it fine but not any of my USB sticks or external hardrives. I used them all on my 60GB and they worked fine but still cant get them to work on the PS3 Slim. Any other suggestion. I've being in touch with the seller and I've being told I can swap it for another one but Im going away on holiday for 2months so he said I can swap when I get back
