PS3 display issues

Hey there,my ps3 aint working,so im hoping someone can help me out,i was playing operation flashpoint and it froze,and i had to turn it off with the button on the back,since then,im getting no display on my tv,ive tried resetting the display (holdin down the power button) its changing but theres still nothing coming up on screen,i am getting sound thru it though (because i can hear the buttons click on screen when you press the buttons on the controller),and if i try to get into safe mode (holding down power button longer) that will display but apart from that,nothing is coming up on the screen. Ive tried using both hdmi lead and the other leads,and ive tried on another tv but still nothing,has anyone got any ideas atall or is it proper broke? its an old school ps3,40gb the big one hope someone can help me out,thanks
