PS3 may be overheating? I'm not sure.

So my PS3 is giving me some issues. I have a Slim 120 GB and I was charging my controller for about an hour one day and immediately went over to it and tried to play Yakuza 3 afterwards, in which case it viewed Yakuza 3's disc as corrupted data. I tried several things to remedy this including the hidden menu for rebuiling the database and checkinf files to no avail. I eventually gave up and turned it off for the night.

The next day I tried to play and it ran fine for about two hours and then in-game Yakuza 3 just froze and I haven't tried since. I've now taken a can of compressed air and tried to clean the vents out and am going to try to play again tonight to see if it occurs again, if so I don't know what I can possibly do to remedy the situation. Any advice?
