PS3 not reading any discs

Was playing Ratchet and Clank: A crack in time. The game froze I restarted the PS3 and it wont read any discs. I have tried a complete restore but this has had no effect. The machine is about 18 months old so i guess this makes it out of warranty.

Re: PS3 not reading any discs

Sounds like the disc drive has died sadly.

You can phone Sony on 08705 99 88 77 to see what they can do for you, but they'll most likely charge you around £100-130 for a replacement 40GB model.

If they do that, and you're unhappy with that, try writing a letter to SCE UK about it and see what can be done, I got a replacement 60GB that way. Sometimes writing a letter can prove to be quite useful.

One other thing you could look into is selling your faulty console on eBay. You'll get at least £50-60 for it if not more, and could use that money to buy one of the new slim consoles.

Re: PS3 not reading any discs

MIGHT be worth doing the safe mode, option 3 - but it's a long shot, and as James says, sounds like back news sorry :smileysad:

Or maybe try SOGA with the retailer you bought it from, as you have little to lose

* YLOD? * *PSN Connection Problems?* *Blu Ray Problems

And we weren't even testing for that..
