PS3 specifically doesn't read PS3 discs

[ Edited ]
It reads PS2 discs. With PS3 discs, it doesn't bring up an error, it just doesn't do anything. What's the problem and how can I fix it? In before 'call Sony', my console is out of warranty and I'm not going to pay a dime more than I already have.

Re: PS3 specifically doesn't read PS3 discs

im afraid you have no choice m8 it seems like a hardware related issue but if you want to try you can try formatting the system (do some research on it before you do it !) and try system restore

Wiping the HDD won't help as the sofware data is held on a flash memory inside the system, you could try my thread, I will bump it up.
