My friend ordered a new game from Japan a few weeks back and it came in his mail yesterday. This game was released ONLY in Japan.
He played the game all day without any problems. From around 8 in the morning to 7-8 at night. His PS3 then crashed and he had to restart it. After doing so he attempted to go back onto the game but found he couldn't as his console would not read the disc. He tried numerous other games and Blu-ray DVD's but it wasn't able to read any of them. He tried again this morning and it worked, he went on a game for literally a minute before it crashed. He restarted the system and once again it wouldn't read the discs.
Before he got this game his PS3 was working perfectly without any problems so I have a strong feeling its the game thats somehow broken his PS3.
I'd be greatful if anyone could give me some information as to whats wrong with the console and if there are any possible fixes that don't envolve taking it to a highstreet company that are going to charge him a fortune to get it fixed.
He's formatted it and used the Restore option which should have got rid of the problem if it was a software issue, but it hasn't, so Im guessing its a hardware issue, maybe something to do with the laser?
I'll be very greatful if anyone can enlighten me with some info that I can pass onto my friend.
