Basically, I have Virgin 50MB, with loads connections.

Everything works fine, until I turn my PS3, and log onto PSN.

It works, but my household disconnects, and no one can use the internet until I shut my PS3.

I've just encountered this problem a week ago, so have no idea what caused it, as everything worked before.

it sounds like it could be IP address related. Check your router settings and make sure DHCP is enabled.

It is enabled.

Make sure the DHCP range is large enough. Some routers only allow for 100 assigned IP addresses, while some routers don't periodically clear the list and reassign the IPs within the allowed range. Does sound as if the PS3 has been assigned a conflicting IP address.

It goes upto 254.

Use to have the same problem with my 40gb phat. if i took the phat online it would drain the connections to my PC.  i now have the 320gb slim, not had a single problem as yet.

try manually setting the ps3 to an ip to something that isn't on the automattically assigned values
eg... 192.168.0.100 - 200 << dchp settings
set ps3 to 192.168.0.50

that way no other device connecting can use the ip the ps3 uses
