PSP not saving game.

Hi, I just want to know if anyone has experienced the same problem as I have. I have recently purchased a PSP in South Africa with an 8 gig memory card duo. I purchased a few new-ish games. Shortly after I went to Portugal and purchased two games. Spiderman 2 the Movie, the video game and Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII. Both these games generally have been out for more then three years. Here is my issue... all my games save on my 8 gig memory card just fine except spiderman. Even though I have 7gigs free, spiderman continues to claim I dont have 294kb's free. Although I can delete and view all my saves within the game it refuses to save. I returned twice to the shop were I purchased it from in Portugal and the guy refused to swap it for a different game or return my money, he only swapped it for spiderman, again. He claimed it was because I did not format my memory card, this is very understandable as I know when you buy a flash drive or any memory card you should generally format it before use, and I do remember I didn't format it before I used my PSP. I returned home, backed-up all my saves and preceded to fomat the memory card. With absolutely nothing on the memory card, spiderman again continued to claim I did not have 294kb's free of space. I understand that maybe this game wasn't developed when the 8 gig memory card was out, but, Crisis Core is just as old and so is Daxter and they save fine. The guy did show me it saves on his PSP with a 2 gig memory card. Is their any solution to this? Besides buying a 2 gig memory card as they are a little difficult to come by, especially because it's not really worth while buying a 2 gig when an 8 gig is only slightly more expensive. My conclusion, is either the developers did not validate correctly for larger sized memory cards or their is a compatibility issue. Regards, Frustrated!

Re: PSP not saving game.

I don't have a PSP, so I'm not 100% sure, but I guess you have 2 basic options:

1) as you mention, buy a smaller card (not ideal!)
2) copy about 4.5Gb of files to your card, until you are left with less than 4Gb of space - at which point hopefully the game will recognise how much space you have left, and work :smileyhappy:

If going for option 2), I'd recommend copying a whole bunch of smaller files, so that you can delete them one at a time in the future, as your card naturally fills up with other stuff

no guarantees, but maybe worth a go? :smileyhappy:

* YLOD? * *PSN Connection Problems?* *Blu Ray Problems

And we weren't even testing for that..

Re: PSP not saving game.

Hmmm.....

Thanks Degs, I will give it a shot.

Only one prob with 2) though.

Leats assume this spiderman game could only work with 2 gig memory cards or smaller - that means I would have to fill my 8 gig with 6 gigs... to be absolutely sure.

Cool, will get back to you on this one.
