Hi. My PS3 freeze every time I try to play the game "Vagrant Story" which I purchase from the PSN store, it freeze during the start of the emulator since seconds before the system stop responding I can access the emulator menu. It works fine on my PSP and I tried downloading it again with no luck.

I'm using a PS3 Slim 250GB PAL. NO HDTV.

BTW, I tried contacting UK support through email, but they kept insisting that I call the support number which I obviously can't since I don't live there.

Update: I tried formatting the hard drive completely and redownloading the game again. I tried it on my friend PS3 (phat 80gb) and it also worked fine. I have yet to find any solution to this and/or any similar topics regarding this problem. This is frustrating

Might it have something to do with the virtual memory card? Try creating a new one and use that.

I tried that by manually deleting the virtual memory card a couple of times and by formatting as I mentioned in my second post. Nothing changed, the system freeze before the PSone logo show up.

Anyway, thanks for stopping by and giving me hand.

If you have any USB items connected try removing them before you switch the PS3 on. Might help.

I did make sure that nothing was connected, but maybe I'll try plugging out the network cable, since that's the only unneeded thing that I kept plugged ..

After trying .. No, that didn't make a different. I also disabling the Internet connection from the network setting.

Note: all my setting are set to default.

Is your friend's PS3 running the same firmware as yours?

Can't see why it should work on one machine but not the other.

I believe it's the same since the update 3.15 is no longer optional as I recall and he do get online a lot.

Just to make sure I  phoned him and asked him if he knew but he's not near his console. He is for sure on either 3.10 or 3.15 (more likely 3.15 as he said).

Neither do I know why only mine not working properly when it comes to PSone titles (I want to get other titles, but this doesn't really give a good sign IMO), I mean everything so far worked with no problem what so ever, except this mysterious no error code freezing thing when booting in the PSone emulator mode.

Firmware: 3.15

nothing was plugged in the PS3 except for the Ethernet cable.
