Hi, I've just bought a Play TV unit for a 250Gb PS3 Slim (both have been updated with the latest firmware). The unit was working fine, until last night, when all my attempts to record live TV were interrupted within minutes by an onscreen error message saying that the recording had stopped. A hardware reset was then required on each occasion, because the machine then freezes. I've had a look on the messageboards, and read that signal strength can interrupt performance and/or recordings if below 60%. However, after several system reboots, I attempted to do a Play TV channel re-scan, and saw that I had 100% signal strength. Does anyone know therefore what the problem might be? It's a great piece of kit, but if I can't rely on it to record, then it's not really worth me using. ![]()

Yeah, my local area is due for the digi switchover, so that could be causing problems. As for a dodgy area on the HDD, I went into the PS3's safe mode and chose 'Restore File System', which did find a problem on the hard disk (and which it went on to repair). I then reinstalled Play TV, avoided updating the firmware, and so far it's been okay - it's recorded for 2 hours now and without freezing. I will try updating the firmware, and then try some more recording, but I'm hoping the disk repair has sorted it - thank you for the suggestion! ![]()

Well, I haven't updated the firmware yet, but I am getting the same problem every 20 mins or so into recording a tv show
.
Basically, the screen freezes, and a message pops up saying recording is complete, then, the screen goes blank, and a message comes back up saying recording has started again. However, I have to do a hard reset because it won't let me watch anything until I restart the PS3.
It's very temperamental, basically, and disappointing. Any further ideas would be welcomed
.
