I guess this is Samsungs fault, and not Sony's, but regardless, I'd like a solution for this problem.
My PlayStation 2 only shows in black/white on my Samsung flatscreen, and I can't seem to get it to work... My Wii has that problem as well, but it does show in colors from time to time, it's rather odd. We also have a smaller flatscreen in the house, which also has that problem, but it has at one time been able to show the PS2 in colors.
I should note that both consoles works perfectly elsewhere, on older TV's.
I have tried using both composite video cables and scart, and several of those, so it's fair to say it's probably the TV's. I have of course fiddled with settings on the TV. So unless you guys can surprise me with somewhere I mistakenly haven't looked to change a setting, what alternatives can you recommend for fixing this problem? Obviously I don't feel like buying a new TV, or an expensive adapter of some sort, (and I already have a PS3, so don't lecture me to go buy one
), but if you guys know of a cheap work-around, that do in fact work, please share.
I'd like to note, other discussions on this subject never gives a clear answer, and it filled with useless comments not helping what so ever (you know how it is), so I'd like us to make a good thread here, for people with simliar problems to find what they seek.
Also; specs: TV is a Samsung, model: LE32S67BD. My PS2 is the newest, SCHP 90004.

Reading the title, I thought 'Ah yes. A dodgy Scart adaptor'. But seeing you've tried all other input methods available, then it's obviously not that.
The fact the Wii has sporadic colour attacks seem to point to the TV not interpreting the colour signal properly. Although it's rare for that to occur with the relatively simple format the Wii and PS2 are capable of generating. It's a problem well known in the past when mixing NTSC and PAL hardware, although I'm assuming this isn't the case here.
Does your PS3 work fine via HDMI? I'm assuming it does.

PS3 works great, as do other HDMI machines. Even our DVD player, using scart, works fine, and everything is PAL to my knowledge.

One thing worth checking is that neither of your consoles are going through another source into the back of the TV. So the console isn't plugged into the video, which is then going into the TV- this is called 'macro vision' and can cause the picture to come out black and white.
Otherwise it is worth testing these consoles on a different HDTV to see what happens.

I don't have much of a chance to test my consoles in different houses HDTV's, but I'll see what I can do, and return with the results in a few days, I suppose.
And no, no Macrovision, it's all clean from console to TV.

I have now tried my PS2 with a few other HDTV's, and it's going strong with full color, even with scart. I have also tried fiddleling further with my own TV, but to no prevail. So I guess it's the TV that's to be blamed. I guess there's little to hope for, but a new TV is too expensive at time, so I'll still let anyone with any suggestions speak their mind. As I've said, maybe a cheap cable can fix this, so maybe someone has experienced a similar problem and fixed it this way.
Hooking it up to my PC monitor would also be fine, thourgh my PS3 already is, and this there is no inputs left for it. A composite-HDMI converter would help, but those are as expensive as the console itself.

I don't think there's any way to cheaply fix it I'm afraid but you can probably pick up a converter off Amazon or argos. There's no guarantee it'll work though.
