Right, first of all i have no clue if this is in the right subforum, if it isen't my appologies !
Now my issue ..
First of all i have a ''ZyXEL P-2602R-D1A'' Router, if thats any help at all.
What i've done is, i have given my computer a static ip address, given my PS3 a static ip address, with all the right information, forwarded the right ports inside my router, switched on uPnP, restarted my router and PS3.
Everything seems to work just fine, i have internet, my PS3 can go online, except when playing online games, be it Fifa 11 or Black Ops, everything is still at moderate ..instead of open.
I would appreciate if someone could tell me what i did wrong and or what i need to do to fix it !
Thanks for reading !
Cheers !
Try turning uPnP off, as you've forwarded the correct ports you shouldn't need it on.
I've tried disabeling uPnP, turning of PS3 + Router but still no luck, i've been trying to google and apperently there's a lot of mention of a DMZ mode, so far i've literally looked for over 15 minutes in my router and i cant find anything mentioning a DMZ ..
I've got a Zyxel P-2602R-D1A and stil cant seem to find anything on the official page
Any help is appreciated ..cheers !
The DMZ is in the Routers Firewall section.
You can download a .pdf of the user manual here.
Cheers for finding the turtorial, i really dont want to be a pain the ***** ..but unfortunatally i am >_<
I've read over the manual, trying to understand one bit of the DMZ mode/Firewall unfortunatally i stil cant find anything solid on how to put my PS3 into a DMZ.
I've upload 2 screenshots of my router, both in the firewall section, i was hoping you could take a look at them and possibily if you time, to help me out here.
Cheers,

Open your Router and click Network > NAT > Port Forwarding, now where it says Default Server type in your PS3's static ip address.
@Mahavishnu
As you can see i've typed in my PS3 static IP into the Default Server type, restarted Router & PS3, i was really hoping that it would jump on open, unfortunately it didn't.

If you have anymore idea's, i would appreciate it, i'm clueless right now considering i've done everything that should make your NAT type go from Moderate > Open.
My NAT has a mind of it's own, it was on open but over recent weeks it's been set to strict.
To be honest , I don't notice any difference in gameplay , no difference at all
Try this.
Put the default server back to 0.0.0.0
Ports for Black Ops.
80 - 81
443 - 443
2005 - 2005
3074 - 3074
3075 - 3075
3478 - 3478
5223 - 5223
Ports for Fifa 11
80 - 80
443 - 443
3659 - 3659
6000 - 6000
9570 - 9570
9980 - 9989
10000 - 10500
10500 - 12500
42100 - 42199
I tried putting the default server back to 0.0.0.0 and open all the ports, unfortunately it stil shows as moderate, even when putting my playstation ip's into the dmz and opening all the ports ..gah i really appreciate all your help and tips so far ..getting desperate here.
Stupid thing just wont budge.
Have you got a copy of MW2 ?
This "trick" has worked for some people, this is copied from the COD section of this forum.
Here's what you do - (you will need a copy of MW2 for this to work.
Put in your copy of black ops, go to multiplayer. Go into options and then hit select. The NAT type should say 'strict'.
Now quit the game and go back to the playstation home screen, eject black ops and put in your copy of modern warefare 2.
Load up the game and go into mutiplayer, go to 'play online' and find where is says NAT type. It should say 'OPEN'.
Now while still on this screen eject the disc which will take you again back to the playstation home screen. Put black ops back in and again go to mutiplayer, then go to options. Now cross your fingers and hit select. Your NAT type will now say OPEN!
Its seems that a lot of people are having problems with their "NAT TYPE" being on moderate, mine also, it's a wonder that the playstation have not put anything on here for its members
Hi there
I have a ZyXEL 660HW T1 v3 and had a STRICT TYPE 3 NAT when trying to play Black Ops. After a factory reset on the router, going into the advanced tab and enabling the 3 UPnP options, Black Ops worked fine. Conection test stated TYPE 2 and the game stated OPEN. All good. No other options were changed. Although I have tried to find the DMZ option, there musnt be one on this type of router. But when I put MW2 in it states that the NAT is STRICT. After a few plays and a few days it reverts back to NAT 3 in the conection test and Black Ops states STRICT, although I have not changed the settings on the router. I then have to Factory Reset the router again and enable the 3 UPnP options.
I JUST DONT KNOW!!!! If there is someone out there who can sort this your name must be God.
Please help us.........
My NAT has gone from strict to open without me doing anything :smileyindifferent:
As I said earlier , I don't notice any difference no matter what the NAT is set at.
On Black Ops a STRICT NAT 3 will not let me connect to most friends and vice versa and finding an online game will take forever. This is realy the only online game I have been playing since moving house with a new ISP "Post Office" and the ZyXEL 660 router. Tried MW2 with STRICT NAT 2 "Black Ops OPEN NAT 2" and this would not connect to most friends.
