Hello,

All of a sudden my ps3 slim doesn't connect to the internet. If i go to the Internet Connection Settings and then go to Easy - Wireless - Type in my SSID - Type in my WEP Key 100% correctly it just says: Checking network configuration... Please wait. for ages and then says: "The attempt to obtain the IP address timed out. The WEP key you entered may not be correct." Even though it is.  So instead I did   Internet Connection Settings - Custom  - Wireless -  Typed in my SSID and WEP Key and then did Automatic for IP address, DNS Setting and MTU and When i do a test the "Obtaining the IP address Fails.

WHAT IS GOING ON?!

Tried resetting your router?

Really not good at this stuff, how do i do that?

Just turn it off for approximately 1 minute and turn it back on again.

If that doesn't work your router may have a reset button which you can use to set the router up again, that may help.

Thanks, just turned off the plug that the router was plugged into then back on again but still nothing. thanks anyway.

I meant actually on the router. its on/off button.

There is a standby button on the modem and that's it. I'm not sure whether to press it as I do not want to muck up my Internet settings as it is working fine on my laptop.

I have put the main saved data files that i want to keep on a memory stick so should I Factory reset my Ps3 Slim and then put the saved data back on? if so how do i reset it?

Dont think a system restore will do much mate, i think its either a router or PS3 connectivity problem.

try pulling the plugs out of the actual router for a minute or so and see what happens.
