Re: Playstation keeps sighing out

I've got the same problem. It keeps signing me out. This must be an issue with the last update. Many people are having the same problem. It must be the update.

P.S Moving the Playstation closer to the router does not help. It makes no difference. There is no issue with the broadband. Does Sony know that there is a problem with accessing the Network since the last update? It renders many games unplayable and the console useless.

Hi garlic-bread163,

There have been reports of connection issues with those on Talk Talk and Virgin connections recently so this maybe the issue if you are on one of these.

Otherwise it looks like one console is having an issue (and you say both are connected via ethernet cable as well) which would rule out a duplicate IP address problem. When connecting this console via ethernet is it directly to the modem, or is it to the router? If you go via the modem what can happen is the modem will be configured for the former PS3's wired connection. When you disconnect this and connect your other PS3 you may need to unplug the modem for 30 secs and then connect it up again.

Once you have done this run through the set up as normal and this should work online. Let me know how you get on.

Re: Playstation keeps sighing out

Thanks for the reply Rabid.Just been onto my internet provider again as my son is starting to have the same problem as me,as after getting another ps3 from a freind and connecting through his online addy to find the same thing happens. That was to see if it was anything to psn with my console after the new update. They said 2 days ago that my line in was perfect no problems their.so i rang them today to ask for a new modem as that was the only thing left that has not been changed to find out that they are having nework issues and didnt know till yesterday.I will keep you upto date if it does turn out to be the problem at their end.

Thanks for the help from everyone Garlic
