Hi I just got a new computer, with win 7, and my computer won't let my ps3 have internet access
I remembered having some problems with xp, but got it to work, enabled ICS, and maybe another thing or two.
I have a dual lan motherboard (just like the last computer). What I do is I have one of the lines connected to the modem, and my ps3/360 on the other lan connection. Like I said above on xp, enable ICS, and maybe another thing or two, and voila I'd be able to get internet access and connect to psn. Used it this way since xmas of 06.
I've tried both lan's, as in using each one for the one that connects to the internet, and the other one to the ps3 and then switching the two so the each one is trying it the other way.
The strange thing is, both ways will allow me to stream to my ps3. So it's not like it's not connecting. It's just not letting my ps3 have any internet access or connect to psn.
I've tried what appears to be every conceivable diagnose and repair windows thingy. I've shut off firewall, etc.
Again this is a WIRED connection, not going through router at all.
So again I can't connect to PSN or internet, but I can receive shared files from computer.

Might have been Win 7 not setting a default gateway (is this Win 0.1 1985 version or Win 7 from 2009?)
Anyways so after literally spending 15 hours, although only 10 minutes this morning, I think I got it.
Just set your default gateway to the same thing your internet access is
Also manually set your ip...i used the trick of just adding 10 to the last ip number in my normal connection's ip address.
Also copied the same subnet mask.
Now it reads I have net access. I'll try it soon, still a bit early. need more sleep

Nope what I did doesn't work. Funny how it says it's connected to internet when it isn't. Tried manually entering in dns and no go.

We have connectivity, I can stream stuff to my ps3. I just can't get anything from the ps3 through my computer to get to the net access for internet or psn.
