Recording PS3 games from HDTV with dazzle

Okay, so i know i cant record and play in HD with dazzle, so i just plug my AV/RCA cable in my PS3 and connect it to the TV

Dazzle needs RCA cables for recording as well, my only question/problem is, my HDTV doesnt have composite outs, just composite inputs,
If anyone has a solution how else could i record through this setup, i'd be glad.

Re: Recording PS3 games from HDTV with dazzle

I don't have dazzle, but several people have used RCA splitters - eg AV to splitter(s), then one cable out of (each) splitter to socket on TV, and another cable out of (each) splitter to socket on dazzle.

And we weren't even testing for that..

Thanks a lot for info! Tho i still have just AV input on my Tv...would it work if i use it for both input and output through splitters? Anyway im going to try it, thanks again.

Re: Recording PS3 games from HDTV with dazzle

Well, i have RCA composite input on my TV (yellow, red, white) so i can plug my PS3 in and i get picture on my TV screen. BUT, i havent got any outputs on my TV except for R/L audio RCA out (dazzle doesnt get any signal from those as well), so i have no idea where to plug my dazzle (needs either RCA composite outputs or Svideo) to transfer picture onto my PC.

I read posts of people with the same problem (no idea how to connect dazzle to HDTV, becouse of no composite out on TV) so i guess there must be a solution to this

You say it can be solved with splitters, but would it work theorically? I just wanna make sure before i throw more money out of the window :/
Thanks in advance!

Re: Recording PS3 games from HDTV with dazzle

I THINK what you need to do (I've not done it myself, but from reading others...)

There are a couple of ways to do it, but they all boil down to the same thing - the feed OUT from the PS3 has to be split into 2, feeding IN to BOTH the dazzle and the TV.

AV lead into PS3.
PS3 lead:
Red, White and Yellow, EACH need a splitter on the end of them (so 3 splitters in total).
From each splitter, you then need 2 leads as OUT.
So 2x Red, 2x White, 2x Yellow.

One set of Red, White and Yellow plug into Dazzle.
Other set of Red White and Yellow plug into inputs on TV.

A google picture or video search should explain that better, but that's basically it :smileyhappy:

Just be sure to be certain that you end up with the correct male / female pairings and all should be good :smileyhappy:
Depending on exactly which splitters you get (again, male / female), you should be able to do away with one of the sets of R/W/Y leads, plugging the splitters direct into the dazzle itself.

* YLOD? * *PSN Connection Problems?* *Blu Ray Problems

And we weren't even testing for that..
