As far as I know, there's rumours of another exploit found in the PSP emulator allowing unsigned code to be run. However this won't affect the PlayStation Network as the PSP emulator runs sandboxed and effectively all they've done is break into a door that was already open.
The network is safe and all is well, it's just a bit unstable at the moment and is probably still being worked on by a dedicated team. (Read as: A team locked in a room and promised coffee to reward their work )
