I know some titles are still incompatible, and I am also hamepered by not having a PS3 so I cannot transfer from one onto my Vita. However, a few games I originally bought on my PSP have became available on the PS Store this week, and although they still appear in my downloads list, they are listed as still being incompatible. Games such as Gran Turismo and Killzone have the Download link on their store pages, but they still lead to an incompatible message.
Has anyone managed to get past this who is in the same situation as me?

I think maybe you have misunderstood my post, or that I've worded it so.
The game IS compatible with the Vita, it was made so today along with half a dozen other old PSP titles. If a PSP game is incompatible with the Vita it will not show up in the PS Store when viewing it with a Vita, and this was the case with Gran Turismo [PSP] up until this afternoon. The game now appears in the Vita's PS Store for £6.99 and states that it is compatible with both PSP and Vita.
The official PS store blog for the EU states (as of yesterday) that Gran Turismo, as well as about 7 or 8 other PSP titles were now compatible with the Vita. All of the games in the list are now showing on the PS store since their compatibility status was changed.

It has the red bag yes, and the Buy Now link is replaced by the Download link, as per usual with bought games. I've sent technical support an email but they will only discuss it over the phone, so I will give them a ring and see how I get on.
