backing up without an HDD

I'm formatting my PS3 (250GB Slim) due a file system error that continueing to showing up in the last 2 months, and I can't donwload any 4GB+ files from the Playstation Store (download freezes and the PS3 starts to work VERY slowley (so slow its almost un-useable), until I pase the download.

Anyway, that's not the question.

I want to back up my games saves, including Modern Warfare 3 Special Ops offline profile, Uncharted 3 profile and game saves (not online) and that's it pretty much, I don't need saves from other games.

Anyway I think that if you copying a game save from one PS3 to another (formatting is the same, I guess), the save wouldn't work at most games (because of the save trophy hacks)...

How should I transfer the saves?

Please use plain text.

Re: backing up without an HDD

Back up to a USB pen drive, so long as you restore your same profile (aka the account you log in to for store access), then the save file should work just fine when copied back, MW3 online is stored online so there is nothing really to back up, however single player and spec ops is saved to your ps3 and this is all you need to back up, unless you dont play offline and spec ops or have them completed and dont plan to play again.

Also sync trophy information before restoring a ps3 just as a pointer as I forgot when I restored mine a while back and lost a good few hours on fallout3.
