i am trying to using another ps3 hard drive in a 60gb ps3 but every time i try and boot the console with that hard drive inserted i get a message saying that it must reformat before use.

Is there anyway to bypass this message and use the hard drive without reformating.

I would say the answer is a definate no. Not saying its impossible but have never heard of anyone managing it and I am guessing that the cost and effort required to overcome that security makes it improbable that it will ever be done for this console.

i have alot of game saves and my hard drive i want to use in a new ps3. i really dont want to start from scratch on the games i play.

well it would be difficult to do as my first ps3 YLOD'd and i cant get it started
