I do not get the full screen when watching programmes on iplayer. It is fine on the xbox version. Do I need to adjust some settings?

No. The whole screen is slightly too large so that I loose a little from all edges. The BBC logo is only just visible.

The TV is a year old Sony and works fine in HD with Sky and the xbox and everything else on Playstation. As far as I can tell 4oD and ITV Player are OK but there is no logo in the corner so it is more difficult to tell. On iplayer the screen size visibly shifts on the start-up screen,

Open up the PS3 browser press triangle then tools set resolution +2 and display -1.
Try them settings first or try a few variations of resolution and display settings will work for 4OD/itv not 100% sure about BBCiplayer but it's worth a try.
Good suggestion mont.
I also have the same when using iplayer on my HD Bravia (regardless of whether the programme is in HD or SD).
The television I have is 720p HD ready and I believe that the picture being displayed by iplayer is in 1080p format in SD/HD and therefore is not being scaled to the resolution. Therefore when watching it, it appears to trim off the edges of the picture.
Let me know how you get on ayewellmm,
Rabid

Try deleting iPlayer and redownloading it. Make sure you're on the latest firmware (4.11) too!
