Re: play tv subtitles

Hi gomwf88.

I'm hard of hearing too and I have PlayTV.

I don't recall any problems with subtitles, but it's a common complaint.

Which channels were you recording ?

I'll check later when I've recorded a programme and let you know.

Hello again.

i recorded a couple of programmes last night and the subtitles seem to have recorded okay.

The version of PlayTV software I have is the latest, 02.03.

I also bought the upgrade software from the PS Store, although that shouldn't affect subtitles.

I notice in the setup menu that there are two options for the subtitles: Normal and Hard of Hearing, but I can't notice any difference between the two settings. Maybe you could try changing that setting?

Poor subtitles can be caused by a low TV signal, even though the TV picture seems ok, so you might try a proper splitter or even a signal booster. And make sure the aerial cable you're using is okay too.

I have a signal booster, which is mains powered, and splits the aerial signal from the wall into 4, and boosts the signal to all my devices, including PlayTV.

You can get them from Amazon or most other electronics retailers.

There's more info on PlayTV here:

I hope this helps
