forget what it says when you get files corrupt, they always say that and apparently aways will whatever you do, so what you are dealing with is just a dying laser
having been doing some testing of drives and lasers for another thread on here, you can just get away with fitting a new laser unit, they are available on Ebay, HongKong sellers have them for about £35, UK sellers for £44, this is for the single lens unit, i guess you have that, its only a matter of taking the top cover off the drive unit, 5 screws plus take off the little disc sensor, then you have access to the laser
P/N for single laser is KES 400AAA
if you get a laser, come back on here and i will tell you how to fit it, or check YouTube as i'm sure there are guides on there

This is exactly what happened to mine.
I bought a PS3 on release day (60GB, backwards compatible, etc.) and it ran fine until March 2011. It then decided to break and I got a refurbished one sent out. This one lasted approximately four months. Then it broke. The refurbished one they sent out broke after two months, and the one they sent out to replace that just broke after one month.
It is mental.
