ps3 has been crashing no lights no nothing

hi, I've never had a problem with my ps3 since I bought it in July 08. Today however it has died twice and by that I mean I was playing COD MW2 and it just completely died. There were no flashing green or red lights, its like the power just cut from it but when I switched the button off and on at the back it came back on again. No cables were loose at the back and no one had moved or touched the playstation. I installed the new update 3.15 yesterday, I don't know if this has anything to do with it, which I doubt, but I thought it might be useful information. Could anyone please help me with finding out the cause of this and what I should do? thank you.

Re: ps3 has been crashing no lights no nothing

Is the power cable connected properly at the back?

If it's loose then that could cause problems.

Is there enough ventalation?

This really doen't sound normal.

Whenever mine has crashed and switched itself off i've never had all the lights go out.

Does it happen with other game?

If it carries on you should contact Sony
