i brought a 80gb fat ps3 about 18months ago and tried installing ratchet and clank but it came up saying hd full,so i sent it back to the place i got it from,they said there was nothing wrong so sent me another,but still had the same,so a friend some how split the hd into 2 parts 10gb/70gb(i've gone into the hd memory and its saying its not full can you plz help its doing my head in thanks

this one rings a bell - something to do with the game not recognising that you have waaaaaay too much space. (Game issue, not PS3 issue)

workaround is to copy a shed load of stuff onto your PS3 (photos, music etc) until you have (from memory) about 20Gb of space left, and then install the game.

Once it has installed, delete all the stuff you copied on to take up the room

this is driving me nuts :0)........have been playing gt 5 for a while but now i cant as it keeps coming up insufficient memory in my hdd even though i have over 30gb spare.any help appreciated

Has the game installed game data yet? If so you could try deleting that
