ps3 transfer with psn+ and all extra slots taken

i was thinking about transfering my 40gb to a 80gb ps3 and as im tempted to do so i really dont want to test it since im afraid i might lose my ability to get stuff off the psn+ or anything since i currently used all the "gameshare" spots on my account. im just wondering if it would work since my 40gb doesnt have to room that i would like or should i just copy to a usb flash drive and put games on the 80gb that way. i was told transfering wouldnt matter with the accounts but i rather ask others to verify that it does or does not.

Re: ps3 transfer with psn+ and all extra slots taken

If you simply want more room, a bigger HDD will be cheaper than buying a 80Gb PS3 :smileyhappy:

If you're worried about your 40Gb dying - 80Gbs aren't exactly spring chickens anyway!

And we weren't even testing for that..

well its more or less as a solution to having more room i currently have both a 40gb and a 80gb. i really dont want to pressure my wife into cleaning off her laptop hard drive for me to use (which wouldnt be much bigger than 80gb anyway).  im just looking for a current solution to having more room

Re: ps3 transfer with psn+ and all extra slots taken

apologies, as I'm slightly lost...

Do you have a 40Gb PS3 and an 80Gb PS3 (or looking to buy an 80Gb PS3)?

Or do you have a 40Gb PS3, and a spare 80Gb Hard Drive from somewhere?

Re: ps3 transfer with psn+ and all extra slots taken

i have both systems actually but my current system is the 40gb ps3 and looking to transfer to my 80gb ps3. what i dont know is since my 5 spares (gameshares) have been used through my main account if that will make my account invalid to receive future dlc or psn+ if i transfer from the 40 to the 80 on my main account.

I'd upgrade the drive personally, however, you can always deactivate the 40gb PS3 if there is an activations problem.
