Can't complete College of Winterhold last quest

I have come to the end of the college of Winterhold last quest where you have to defeat Ancano I tried my intial idea of using the Staff of Magnus on the Eye of Magnus but this wasn't working so I went to YouTube to see what I was doing wrong, from the video I found on YouTube there is a whole conversation that happens between Tholfidir and Ancano which never happened on my attempt I also noiticed that the Eye of Magnus was open after this conversation which it wasn't on my attempt, so I am left here wondering wether the quest is glitched or wether me being a vampire is causing him to rage as I have already had some aggro from the people in Winterhold trying to kill me for being a vampire?

I had something similar on the last quest actually,with the Eye not being open(IIRC as it was a while ago now as that was my first questline i finished),so i had to reload it and it seemed to work the second time

 

Hopefully you can try that if you haven't already,don't forget to try the AUTO saves if you have then enabled

 

 

take note however that i am on the Xbox

my advice is go do the companions questline so u can become a werewolf to cure your vampirism. lycanthropy is much better
