Can't go in the water after update

This is driving me nuts! I can't go underwater anymore or the game freezes. It's really spoiling the game for me.

Has anyone else had or heard of this problem?

Thanks

Re: Can't go in the water after update

I have the exact same problem. At first I thought it was the game in general but I took the same path and went back to the water to swim across and it froze my whole PS3 again, very annoying.

Yeah. I was much further into Fallout 3 before it started to get buggy. Can't believe this is broken already, and I've hardly played it.

Is there an official forum we can register our complaints at, does anyone know?

[ Edited ]

Other than having one of my quests broken and the water freezing I haven't had much go wrong with my Skyrim lol. You could try these forums:

http://forums.bethsoft.com/forum/13-the-elder-scrolls/

*EDIT* Just read this from the forum:

We've seen reports of users having issues with the game freezing up when entering water. If you're having this issue, head to the PlayStation XMB menu. From there go to Game>Game Data Utility. Delete the game data and title updates for Skyrim.

Note: Game Data is not the same as your game saves. As long as you're not deleting anything from the game saves folder, you'll still have your saves.

Once you restart Skyrim, you'll need to wait for the 1.5 title update to reinstall, as well as the mandatory game data install.

It seems Bethesda's patches are useless at over writing the previous versions.

From experience from the previous updates a fresh install is best option when new patches arrive.

I replied to a thread in the tech boards a few weeks ago it's had around 3500 views already from google searchers i guess.

Re: Can't go in the water after update

I had already looked at the game data files with a view to deleting them, but I could only find one update. I expected to see several and I was intending to delete the most recent one.

As the poster above stated, the update must delete the former one (and not very well either).

So, I deleted the update and the large game data file. Reinstalled, and I'm back in the water!

Thanks guys! I'm sooo glad I asked here.

Re: Can't go in the water after update

tbh you really need to delete then reinstall the game and update data before you install any patch for skyrim.

the game stores cache data in the game data,so if something in the patch clashes with informatin stored in the game data it can cause all sorts of weirdness.in my case I had a white room room effect and my char was a dissembodied head :/
