Class/Race and Levelling question.

ooooooookay first off i'm feeling a bit overwhelmed right now because of the massive size of this game. It took a while to sink in that i could go anywhere i wanted (lol)
Anyway, I know that in order to level up, you have to level your skills. Is it just major skills? Or do minor skills count towards the level up thing.

Also this is my first time playing the game and i'm unsure if i picked the best combination that suits my general playstyle. If anyone here has played World Of Warcraft I was thinking along the lines of the Rogue class. For anyone who hasn't it is an agile, stealthy class with a high damage rate. Could anyone give me pointers as to how to achieve this? I'm only 8 or so hours into the game so it's not that big of a deal restarting.

Thanks for any help

Re: Class/Race and Levelling question.

Let me tell you what i do. I run a breton because of his high resistance to magic and increased magicka, i combine that with the atronach birthsign which gives you a chance to absorb magicka attacks and after that in terms of skills i equip all the skills i will use to defeat enemies, therefore my ability to kill things should then improve as enemies do (they become harder as you level)

So it's something like this

Light armor
Heavy armor
sneak
marksmanship
blade
block
blunt

Now some people would say that you shouldn't pick blade and blunt and light armor and heavy in the same major list but why not? you can play the game how you want you couls use these skills and still play like a "rogue" i still ise skills like security and illusion abut i dont want them levelling my character by putting them as majors, because those skills won't help me in battle, you get my meaning? Anyway good luck with the game, take time out to get a settled character before you do too much in the game otherwise you'll be bored of it before you find that "just right" character like i did (having to delete my data because of a broken PS3 didn't help either)

Enjoy the world of oblivion

Re: Class/Race and Levelling question.

Thanks, thats quite helpful. Do you think it would be better to have male or female?

Re: Class/Race and Levelling question.

Well if you have female once a month she gets this "battle rage" and you have to buy her a new pair of greaves........only joking. It's a purely cosmetic choice, you could always make one and just stare at her in her underwear (not that i've ever done that) Also as i level i just raise str, int and endurance to start and when they all get to 70 then i move on to agi, spd and willpower and difficulty-wise i lower the bar by seven clicks that makes it juuuuust right.

Re: Class/Race and Levelling question.

You do realise that was a joke about women and their "special time" once a month?

Re: Class/Race and Levelling question.

In terms of shadows post, my point was that you don't need to pick his skills to be a rogue (no offense shad) the point is major skills only really have a connection to levelling, you could still level those and be a good "rogue" even if they were minors.

I'll shut up now....i'm in enough trouble on the PLAYTV WARNING thread.
