Id wait an extra year for the game if they just released them in such a state. There are problems on all the platforms, though it hasn't been too bad for a change on the PC version. It breaks immersion and just forces you out of the game if you continually encounter the typically Bethesda-like bugs.

They couldn'tbe bothered fixing Fallout 3 when GOTY came out, why would they bother fixing Skyrim?

Besides, it is awesome on PC! :smileyvery-happy:

While that may be true, some of us use a PS3 for gaming because we use our PCs for other (orthogonal) purposes.

But you got me wondering: Do any PC games have specific DS3 support? If so, for multiplatform titles, do they have the same control mappings for the DS3 as on the PS3?

Most support the 360 controller officially, and there are drivers for the DS3 out there but support for it is more flakey.

But this is Slyrim... and there is bound to be somebody out there who will code a mod to use everything that comes with using a DS3. Those guys would probably even get the sixaxis part of the controller working with it, and I wouldn't be suprised if somebody got the Playstation Eye working as well for the Shouts.

Ok, I might have gone a bit overboard there lol. But I have downloaded a few of the mods.... OMG!

DS3tool, the tool almost everyone uses for using a PS3 Pad on PC has Xbox 360 Controller emulation anyway, all you have to do then is remember what is RT and RB and ABXY :smileyhappy:

You cannot sadly, although DS3Tool does support Sixaxis, the X360 controller doesn't have an equivalent.

If something doesn't support X360 controller and you're mapping out controls on the PS3 Pad, the Sixaxis should work, although it is annoying, as when you tilt it, you can accidentally set that to something dumb >.< I remember trying to figure out a neat-o way to get Wii emulation to work with a Ds3 controller, using the sixaxis as the motion sensor XD It worked, but just didn't feel great to play.

As for Skyrim mods, we'd have to wait for the full modding kit to be released first, to see if we can get mic command support on it XD.

Re: PS3 Skyrim: the WORST performance seen in years

Ah boycotting Bethesda won't do anything simpley because they have so many fans. I love Skyrim it's deep amazing emotional and epic all in one. I haven't come across any problems yet, mainly because I haven't played that much of it only around 20 hours or so.

Still I've deleted my save and won't be playing until this it's properly fixed in Jan by the sounds of it. I shouldn't have to really,as any game that ships should be playable from start to finish as soon as you pop it into you're PS3. So I can see customers anger at that.

Luckly I'm not to angry, and a little more relaxed and calm with the fact I won't be playing till Jan.Simpley because I have so many games to finish.

Deus Ex-HR  has been re-booted in my PS3 ( only in chapter 2 ) and have to say I'm glad I'm back. That games story, enviroments and soundtrack ( Soundtrack Of the year for me ) is just immense.I'll happly play that until Besthda issue a defining fix for "Rimlag"

I like to point out i don't have this game. I want it lots. but seeing all the videos on you tube, how can you justify playing it when the screen locks up for haf a second every few seconds. No way to enjoy the game at all.

Waiting till its mostly fixed. Which is hard, because it seems that its a engine problem more than anything.

I really don't think you should be put off. You're missing out on an awesome game.

If you do have a PC capable of running it, then get it on that platform.
Either way, you're missing out, in my opinion.

Re: PS3 Skyrim: the WORST performance seen in years

I'm seriously fed up with this game. I love Elder Scrolls, and I had a great couple of weeks with this game. I try to start it up today, and oh look it freezes before I've even started. So I hard reset my Ps3, then it tells me it wants to rebuild my hard drive, which I declined. So the game loads up and I use my horse to travel, and every time I sprint th game locks up, every 10 seconds, freeze, freeze, freeze. I moved from 360 to the PS3 for a better experience, but its always us getting the rubbish end of the stick. Any enjoyment of this game goes with the freezing, lagging, sound glitches, music cutting out.

I thought Bethesda would really show out with this game, but I think I was wrong. This next patch had better sort it. Oh yeah and I forgot to add the texture pop-ins.

Re: PS3 Skyrim: the WORST performance seen in years

I still think these games are better on PC.

I don't have Skyrim on PS3 but can't you clean out your game saves every now and then?

I hate having a massive list of autosaves in any game I play, on my PC I just turn the feature off and save when I like, my PC never freezes while playing.
