I don't know what is going on but I hope this performs better on my slim PS3 when I get it.
It won't. It's still bad on a slim.

to be honest all of the Bethesda open world games do this - back with Morrowind on the original xbox
ps3 or 360 version won't matter Morrowind, Oblivion, Fallout3 and Fallout NV have always stuttered and slowed down after long hours of game play - the problem is (with the older games everyone you killed was still lying around everywhere and depending on wether you looted just 1 item or everything - the game remembered - personally i found looting everything helped as the body disappeared eventually - leaving some items meant the game had to remember thatplus all the junk in chests and on shelves the game has to remember - not to mention I have a tendency to bring dead bodies back to my homes and set them up in tea parties - or as sculpture (home in Solitude has a dead Forsworn army stacked against the wall because one day I might need them you know - now my game has to recall that and pretty much everything else I've done in game
my save on Skyrim is 16mb - thats a lot of information to remember considering most game saves aren't that large so it slows down every hour or 2 and I have to reboot- well that means coffee break - trip to the lavy maybe - an acknowledgement that I do live in another reality besides a polygonal one - its no biggie I just reboot then get on with my fiendish adventures

I have just started playing this today and from the start there was graphical glitches in little spots all over the place as well as poor framerates.
A ps3 restart has made it a bit better.
To say I am disappointed with this game is a massive understatement.
Very, very poor from the developer, I'll be trading it in for the 360 version as I'm lucky enough to have both consoles and with any luck it'll be better.
If not then it's hello Dragon Age 2.

i'm 100 hours into the game now, and I have counted 13 crashes (where the ps3 has completely frozen).
I have a slim 320gb with at least half of my hd space left. I got this game on the first day it was reduced (didn't get it day 1 cos of how bethesda screwed me with a gmae-breaking bug in new vegas). I was aware around the time of buying skyrim that there was issues with it with the lag and freezing, so, since my save file hit 5000kb I have been following the helpful tips on the inernet to reduce this problem, ie:
I turned off auto-saves
I only have 2 save files
I try to sell as much crap as possible (keep my house de-cluttered) and always try my best to finish missions before I open new ones
I even wait days at a time and even waited the bethesda recommended 30 in-game days to reset random in-game stuff
DESPITE all this I get 13 complete crashes (half the time doing that corruption thing on ps3 restart) in 100 hours and I believe this is unacceptable.
NO OTHER GAMES in my opinion are as broken as bethesda games, i've had the odd crash on over 100 hours of battlefield 3, and so many other games that play flawlessly. They need to sort Skyrim out.

I've not touched my copy since it did the HDD scan for the second time. I've only just got my slim PS3 and i don't fancy shelling out for another one. If Skyrim is still worth anything in trade in its gone. Its a shame cause i'd been looking forward to this for a long time, as i suspect we all had. A great experience that turned into a very frustrating one. Thanks Bethesda.
