jedicam10's Missions: Creations from the Servbot Workshop!

Greetings, fellow UGC enthusiasts! Since I've created several missions, I figured it was about time I created a thread devoted to my previously published missions, as well as future ones! I'm well known for my Conduit Community Saga, but I've also made a few other missions as well. So for those who are looking for high quality missions with hours spent on them, here you go:

---General Missions---

The Fall of New Marais - *SPOILERS* This is a mission that is a continuation of the evil ending where Cole is the Beast and the Ice Gang and the Corrupted fight with you to kill the Militia and rebels in Fort Phillipe. A simple Gang War/Kill 'Em All, but pretty fun.
---
The Beast is in New Marais - *SPOILERS* In this mission, you stand at the top of the Can-Can building and you must snipe John White in human form among the crowd of civilians without hurting them. He can be hard to spot but a good eye should find him.

---The Conduit Community Saga---
This series spans multiple mission and areas. It's the story of a group of Conduits who band together and create a peaceful haven for emerging conduits. However, Bertrand has his eye on a few Conduits to use for his own nefarious purposes. This is an original story with lots of twists and turns.

Conduit Community - This mission was my very first one and acts as an introduction to the characters of the  Conduit Community series. It's a relatively simple Search & Rescue mission that only takes a few minutes to complete. This mission works best for those who chose the good karma route during the first karma choice. This mission start is located in the bayou where the game begins.
---
Conduit Community Part 2: The Discovery - This mission is where the overall story starts kicking off and will be fun for those who are fans of narratives. There are still action sections that both tie the plot together and keep the player interested. The mission start is located on the docks near the boat was parked in the beginning of the game.
---
Conduit Community Part 3: Unreliable Sources- It's a bit darker (literally, it takes place at night time) than the previous two missions. It has more battles than Part 2 and is a strong turn in the plot of the overall story.
---
Conduit Community Part 4: "For My Family" - As always, you get to fight alongside friendly conduits while fighting Militia forces but this time, the Militia here are much stronger than before as they are a part of an elite unit. This mission also includes my first boss battle that I've made. This mission is a very emotional one with strong character development.
---
Conduit Community Part 5: The Ties That Bind Us - This is the dramatic climax to the six-part Conduit Community Saga. I filled the editor with to the brim with story driven dialogue and props. I should warn any players that it is more story than action driven but still fulfilling nonetheless.
---
Conduit Community Part 6: A New Beginning - This is the combat-free conclusion to the saga. It serves as an epilogue to bring closure to the events of the previous 5 missions.

I have a whole list of mission concepts I plan on making into reality in the near future, so stay tuned! Feel free to leave feedback here or to send me a PM on PSN. My PSN username is jedicam10.

Enjoy!

Nice I really have to try out your missions when I'm on PS3, I haven't really been on PS3 much. Hopefully soon! :smileyhappy:

Re: jedicam10's Missions: Creations from the Servbot Workshop!

I've played them all.  I have to recommend the Conduit Community saga to anyone who hasn't experienced it.  Jedicam10 has really poured effort into making a good narrative.  It is on the dialog-heavy side, but necessarily so.

Hey CC fans! When Conduit Community was in development, I kept a log of character bios and events, in order to keep track the personalities and the chronology of the series. I figured, why not expand them and post them here for anyone whose interested? The following includes detailed information of the history of the characters within the Conduit Community Saga. Some of the information I created for them wasn't mentioned directly within the missions, but it did affect their personalities, conversations and actions. I also included important information on the story of the series but have blocked them with spoiler tags so open at your own risk!

*-Nathan:

 tumblr_lnbqiatG7w1qh879yo1_500.jpg

An English-born conduit whose brain fluid resists mind-control agents. He eventually gained the power of telepathy. His powers were activated when Bertrand turned him into a swamp monster, which Cole witnessed as he exposed Bertrand himself  as a conduit. Afterwards, he fled with his sister, Natalie, who also had powers, and after meeting the Norwan family, co-founded the Conduit Commune on the outskirts of New Marais.

Spoiler

Shortly after the discovery of his telepathic powers, the Commune Conduits uncovered a device created by Bertrand that has the same effect as the Ray Sphere except that it creates a blast that kills all conduits in the perimeter and spreads the plague to other conduits within a greater radius. Nathan was originally opposed the commune's decision to keep the so called 'Purity Sphere' at the bayou, opting to destroy the device. he ultimately agreed, worrying about what may happen should the device be damaged and activated.

After Cole discovered the existence of two other spheres as well as captured conduits, Nathan tried to get Jack Norwan to send back-up to help bring the captured conduits back to the commune. Jack refused to let anybody go but Rio snuck out and took the boat to help Cole rescue. Nathan also realized the there was something blocking his telepathic powers from reading Bertrand's mind. With the Commune less protected, Militia commander Trask invaded with his elite unit, re-took the Purity Sphere, and captured Nathan. Trask also killed Jean and Jack Norwan.

Nathan was then taken to Bertrand's secret lab in the Gasworks where he was then infected by the conduit-plague via the Purity Sphere. The sickness increased the secretion of his brain fluid that gives him his telepathic powers, further enhancing them. Bertrand would later use a device called the Neuro Sphere to connect his mental powers to the Purity Sphere to make him telepathically give the plague to every living conduit in the world. This effect didn't affect Nathan, as it only targeted people of a different DNA structure. In order to make sure his mission was a success, Bertrand created the Anti Sphere, which makes the nearest conduit immune to the plague.

Bertrand executed his plan and almost every conduit in the world began showing symptoms of the plague. Cole, Rio, and many other Conduits were captured due to being weakened by the effects. After having been brought to Bertrand's lab, Natalie used her telekinetic powers to defeat the guards and rescue the others. Due to her having a similar DNA structure to Nathan's, she was unaffected by the Purity Sphere.

They then replaced the Purity Sphere with the Anti-Sphere and reversed the damaged caused in part by Nathan. With all of the others cured of the plague and freed by Natalie, they began the fight to their escape. Alfred, a medic, while assisting Nathan with his injuries, found a sample of the 'Corrupted' virus which he planed on using to control Nathan's swelling. After the Militia guards were defeated, they escaped back home, to the commune.

After two weeks of no communication, Nathan contacted Cole telling him that he has something important to show him at the commune and with the help of Natalie, transports him there via boat. After a short goose chase, Cole was reunited with Nathan and Natalie, and reveals that the sample virus used to dull the swelling caused by the plague worked better than expected and cured Nathan of his swamp monster appearance. With the knowledge of returning members of the Corrupted back into humans, he plans on saving hundreds of lives in New Marais. He thanked Cole for his help, and told him that he was always welcome at the Conduit Commune.

---

*-Natalie:

A young telekinetic conduit and sister to Nathan. She developed her powers earlier than other conduits and housed much potential. She also later could alter her facial features and skin tone however, she has no control on when or how these changes occur. After helping form the Conduit Commune, she was kidnapped by Bertrand and his forces until later rescued by Cole Mcgrath.

Spoiler

When it was found that she could shape-shift, the Commune Conduits called Cole back to the commune and asked him teach her how to focus her telekinetic powers. He reluctantly agreed and brought her to a Militia parking lot in the Gasworks. Using his knowledge of his Kinetic Pulse ability, to teach her on focusing her mind on specific objects. She even was able to lift and throw two cars at once.

Afterwards, Cole got word of the location the Purity Sphere. Natalie opted to help Cole retrieve it, but he didn't trust her fighting abilities and made her stay and wait for him. After he picked up the Sphere, they both returned to the commune and discovered it's potential to wipe out all of conduit-kind.

A few days later, while Cole and Rio were rescuing a group of imprisoned conduits, Commander Trask and his Elite Militia attacked the commune. Natalie was suffered minor injuries but witnessed the slaying of her friend Jean Norwan. She used a radio to contact Cole as her brother Nathan had been captured and the Purity Sphere stolen. When Cole arrived, he founded her wounded and healed her before he asked what was going on. She quickly filled him in and wanted to help defeat the remaining Militia but Cole made her stay put for her own safety concerns. Soon later, Jack Norwan died from his injuries.

She felt both helpless and angry at herself for not being able to stop the deaths of two of her closest friends. She was still kept at the commune to keep watch as Cole, Rio and the others went to search for Nathan and the sphere. Her frustration gave her a strong drive to act that peaked when Cole and the gang were captured. When they were captured, she rushed over and used her powers to free the imprisoned conduits and defeat the Militia. She was unaffected by the conduit plague being spread by Nathan via the Purity Sphere. They soon later escaped back to the commune.

Nathan, who had recently been healed of his Corrupted disease, asked Cole to return to the commune. When he arrived, he thanked Natalie for saving their lives and acknowledged her bravery during the laboratory rescue, to which she found flattering. She was sad when Cole explained how he wouldn't see them for a while, as he'd be fighting Bertrand. however, after much insistence from Natalie, he promised her, he would visit them after the issue of Bertrand and the Beast was resolved. A promise, in the end, he couldn't keep.

*-Jack Norwan:

 jack_norwan.JPG

A veteran of the South African Army and a single father after his wife, Rosa Lee Norwan died. He used to travel all around the world before meeting his wife in New Marais. They eventually married, had twins, and lived happily in the deep south until the Ray Sphere Plague took Rosa's life. Jack and his twin sons, Jean and Rio, moved to South Africa and enlisted into Vermaak 88. They later were experimented on by Bertrand but kept their sanity due to their conduit gene and eventually left the Ice Gang. Jack began meeting other conduits in New Marais and eventually founded the Conduit Commune with Nathan and Natalie. He assumed himself as the motivational 'leader', being the eldest of the group.

Spoiler

After Natalie was captured, he discovered that it was Bertrand's doing. He requested help from Cole Mcgrath as he was familiar with fighting his militia. He then led the charge with Cole and his sons to save Natalie. Once she was saved, he later got in touch with Cole and asked him to help Natalie control her telekinetic powers.

When the Purity Sphere was discovered and retrieved by Cole, Jack convinced the others to keep the device at the commune to be guarded by the other conduits until they could figure out how to deactivate it permanently. He suggested that Cole use his friend, Zeke to find information. Cole eventually found a lead to two other spheres, apparently needed for Bertrand's plan to work, as well as captured conduits. Cole wanted some of the conduits to come rescue the prisoner's but Jack wouldn't allow it as it would leave the Purity Sphere too venerable.

However, Rio, one of their best fighters, wanted to help in the rescue and snuck out with the commune boat, the Rosa Lee. While he was gone, the commune was attacked by Commander Trask's elite militia. Jean was killed and both the Purity Sphere and Nathan were captured in the assault. Much of the commune was destroyed as well. Trask mortally wounded Jack, who kept fighting the Militia until Cole, Rio, and the rescued conduits came to help. Jack, then succumbed to his injuries and died that night. He was buried in the New Ascension Perish along side his wife and son, Jean.

*-Rio Norwan:

 rio_norwan.JPG

The elder twin, he was always more outgoing and stubborn than Jean. He also enjoyed the rush of combat more than his younger brother. He was named after an old Brazilian friend of Jack's. He felt that the Army was too limiting and followed his father in enlisting to Vermaak 88. He left after being exposed to the transfer device and took the role of  the Conduit Commune's guard, looking out for potential threats towards the peaceful conduits.

After activating his powers, he was able to move at very fast speeds, leaving only a trail of ice in his path. He used this ability in conjunction with his skills with shotguns to be a deadly foe that wasn't afraid to get up close to his foes.

Spoiler

One day, when Natalie was going for a walk, she was captured by the Militia. Rio wanted to rush in to save her, but the others wanted a more calculated approached and waited for Cole to come and help them before they saved her. Rio acted as a scout, clearing areas of Militia for Cole and the others to help clear out afterwards.

While the Purity Sphere was possessed by commune conduits, Rio was on a more extensive guard duty. Despite this, he still longed to bring the fight to the Militia instead of waiting for them. His wish was granted when Cole requested backup for a rescue mission involving captured conduits. Ignoring his father's orders to stay and guard the commune, Rio left with the boat to help with the rescue effort. As he rounded up the freed conduits, he received a radio call from an injured Natalie, stating that the commune has been attacked and that something happened to Jean.

Rio and the prisoners took the boat back to the commune to find Jack, combating the last of the Militia forces still at the commune. After the fight, Jack revealed that the Purity Sphere was gone and Jean, Rio's twin, had been killed in the attack. Rio was overwhelmed by guilt for not staying to protect the commune. Jack eventually died from his wounds, but not before telling Rio who is in charge of the attack: the Militia commander, Nick Trask. From then on, Rio vowed vengeance on both Trask and Bertrand for the death of his family.

A few days later, Rio and Cole were paying their respects to the late members of the Norwan family when, one of the freed prisoners,  Maria, arrived with information on Trask. She tried to counsel him by telling him about how she lost her family as well, but Rio was bitter towards her, partially blaming her for his family's death. Cole stopped them from the arguing and Maria led them to the current location of Trask. He was holding up inside of a warehouse in the Gasworks. While searching for him, they ran into Ames, a contact that Cole met who led him to the prisoners the night of the attack. Ames revealed that he was sent by Bertrand to divert the conduits' attention so he could attack the commune and take the Purity Sphere. Overcome by anger, knowing that the man in front of him was partially responsible for his father and brother's death, he shot Ames, killing him instantly.

Soon after, Trask invited the conduits to his location in a nearby warehouse. He taunted Rio about killing his family and soon after,  Cole and the gang were fighting Trask and his elite group of Militia members. Trask was then defeated but refused to give them any information regarding the location of the Spheres or Bertrand. Cole bio leeched him and found where Bertrand would strike next. Then, a shockwave occurred that they believed came from the Purity Sphere's ignition. Before they left, Rio declared his vengeance on Trask had been complete.

They arrived at the blast zone to see that the Sphere had been successful. It killed all of the Ice Gang members in the area, leaving the Militia unscathed. Rio remembered his old friends from Vermaak 88, and charged to fight the Militia members surveying the area. the others rushed in to help and after the fight, realized that there was no radiation spreading. Then, Bertrand contacted them telepathically, via the Nuero Sphere, and revealed that he still had Nathan alive. He then used Nathans powers to infect every conduit, wit the virus. Rio and the others, then blacked out.

Rio was taken prisoner with other members of Vermaak 8, who had also been conduits. After Natalie switched the Purity Sphere with the Anti Sphere, Rio and his newly reunited allies, escaped the laboratory. He contacted Cole and arranged to meet the other escapees at the docks where he'd ferry them to the commune.

Two weeks later, Cole visted again and Rio introduced him to his old Vermaak allies, Dino Ferrari and Bruce Flint. Rio showed Cole some of the changes at the commune, with more guardians, a fixed bridge, and that he had developed a romantic relationship with Maria. From then on, he was the lead guardian of the commune.

*-Jean Norwan:

 jean_norwan.JPG

The youngest, by just a few minutes, of the Norwan twins, Jean spent his teenage days working with technology, hoping to follow his father's footsteps and join the military and become technician. He was named after a friend of his mother's from France. After his mother's death, he decided to join Vermaak 88 as his brother and father had decided to also, instead of enlisting in the U.S. Army alone. After having been experimented on, he joined the Conduit Commune and spent his time studying ray field technology.

While technology and science were his forte, he was still a skilled fighter. He is a skilled marks men and after gaining ice powers, had the ability to create a shield made from hard ice.

Spoiler

His combat skills were put to work after Natalie was captured and Jack, Rio and Cole and he went to rescue her. He provided a strategy, making sure Natalie was safe during the rescue. It was partly due to his observations that she was rescued.

When Cole discovered the Purity Sphere, he had it brought back to the commune for Jean to inspect, having some knowledge about ray sphere technology. He and Nathan inspected the device and discovered its potential. Jean was the one to realize that the sphere worked just like the Ray Sphere, causing a large explosion and spreading a plague. The only difference between the two, is that the blast and the plague are only lethal to conduits. He agreed with his father's decision to keep the sphere at the commune, to make sure it was safe from enemy hands.

When the commune was attacked by Trask and his elite militia, Jean was the first to defend the sphere from militia hands, but Trask was able to overcome Jean's combat style and he was killed, protecting the sphere. By the time the assault was over, Nathan and the sphere were captured, and Jack and Jean Norwan were dead. Jean was buried in the cemetery of New Ascension alongside his parents.

*-Alfred Doren:

Born in an upper-class family in New York, Alfred studied to become a doctor and moved down south after finding that New Marais had a high demand for his practice after the flood. He was later kidnapped after being discovered to be a conduit with the ability to detonate objects with his mind. He was imprisoned with two other conduits, Maria Valdez and Marcus Labronx before they were rescued by Cole. He then joined the Commune Conduits as a medic.

Spoiler

He also was the one to discover the cure to the Corrupted and healed Nathan of his monstrous appearance.

---

*-Maria Santo Rodrigo-Valdez:

A Puerto Rico native, she moved to America when she was a little girl into the Bellevue neighborhood of New Marais. When she was 16, her family was killed in the flood and she was left alone to fend for herself. With no family she could turn to, she became homeless and resorted to looting, shoplifting and pick pocketing to survive. She eventually discovered that she was a conduit with the ability to morph into a small, insect-like creature resembling a Spiker. She used this to her advantage for stealing. However, she eventually got caught and was captured by the Militia. She was saved by Cole and eventually joined the Conduit Commune after they gained her trust.

Spoiler
After a rocky start, she eventual had a romantic relationship with Rio Norwan, sharing similar stories of losing family in the past.

---

*-Marcus Labronx:

Born to a family who had lived in New Marais for generations, he continued a long-living tradition of public performers in the Labronx family. After the flooding of Bellevue, he volunteered to help the disaster relief. This is when he realized his ability to harden his skin into a hard, metal-statue like material. This not only made him nearly invulnerable, but also increased his strength, which he used to clear rubble and rescue those trapped under debris. He became known as the 'Silver Man' amongst the community but it was this notoriety that made him a target for persecution by the Militia. He was captured by them until rescued by Cole.

---

*-Ames:

A homeless man who lived on the streets of various southern towns for years. When it was discovered he was a conduit, numerous attempts to capture him were in vain due to his ability to teleport. This ability was one Bertrand found to be potentially useful and set him up to be infected by the conduit-virus from the newly-created Purity Sphere. Infected and in need of a cure, Ames was promised a cure by Bertrand, using his Anti Sphere. He was then forced to work for Bertrand knowing he had only weeks to live without a cure.

Spoiler
While pretending to no longer work for Bertrand, he diverted Cole and the others to a group of captured conduits so that Trask could move in and recapture the Purity Sphere. Afterwards, Bertrand had no use for him and ordered his men to kill Ames. He was rescued by Cole and the gang, but after confessing his secret, he was killed by Rio in a fit of rage.

---

*-Commander Nick Trask:

 trask_head.JPG

He led an elite unit of Militia soldiers that specialized in fighting conduits and was Bertrand's right hand man. He had a heavy build and was an expert with a mini-gun. He also was a skilled tactician with a lust for battle and a hatred for all of conduit-kind.

Spoiler

He orchestrated a distraction to keep Cole away from the commune so he and his forces could move in and retrieve the stolen Purity Sphere.

*-Dino Ferrari:

A New Yorker of Italian decent who eventually joined Vermaak 88 for the adventure. He specialized in explosives and was proficient with rocket launchers. He eventually met heavy-weapons specialist, Bruce Flint as well as the Norwans. They were a successful unit as Ferrari and Flint formed a love-hate partnership where Dino would antagonize Bruce even though Bruce would continuously save his neck in battle. After turning into Ice Gang members, they realized that they were conduits and became a mercenary duo.

Spoiler
After Purity Sphere was activated with Nathan, the two were captured and reunited with Rio. After their escape, Dino agreed to join the commune as a guardian and protect his new home with his old allies.

*- Bruce Flint:

bruce_flint.png

Flint was a small-town Nebraskan who joined Vermaak 88 after becoming disenchanted with the U.S. government and was looking for a more private option. While visiting New Marais, Bertrand persuaded him to join the PMC and he soon rose through the ranks to become a heavy-weapons specialist. He became friends with Jack Norwan and his sons. He also met Dino Ferrari and formed a strange friendship with him. After having his powers activated, he and Dino decided to leave the Ice Gang. Jack offered to invite them to join the Conduit Commune, but they declined, as they preferred to be mercenaries for hire, taking advantage of the chaos Bertrand had created in New Marais.

Spoiler
They were eventually captured and freed along with Rio, the last surviving Norwan, who eventually convinced them to join the commune as its guardians.

I see what you mean here, but I think I should make clear that not all of the characters mentioned were main characters. Most were sub-characters who had little influence in the overall plot. I simply had created long back stories for them to help give them personality. I like all of my characters to have individual personalities, n matter how small their role is. I understand that the list may look over-whelming, especially for a UGC mission series, but that's not my intention. I just love the series so much, that I figured, if anybody else is interested, they can read about the biographies of some of my characters.

On another note,

I've completed my latest mission! It's called Raging Against the Machine. It merges busy action with real-life politics. Don't worry though. I tried to make it so it wasn't too polarized for any political gamers. I didn't include any personal political beliefs because I don't always want my entertainment, to be mixed in with politics. I prefer neutrality. It contains a bit of a narrative as well. Enjoy!

Re: jedicam10's Missions: Creations from the Servbot Workshop!

I've played the Saga. It's great!

You were very creative in making that girl a shapeshifter. I even talked to my girlfriend about it. That's cause she studies art and we were not so long ago talking about a text she was reading, which compared two opposite views of art.

In one the concept is not affected by the material and the proceedings materializing the work of art, the concept generates the final result directly through the material.

In the other the concept is affected by the material and the proceedings, being altered as convinience dictates, to generate the final result.

The stuff you did was text book example of the second view. Really amazing.

Another thing I didn't manage to put in the in-game rating review thing was how awesome the car ladder was. And the car jump made it look even more special.

And the overall dramatic gestures really made a difference. It enhanced the immersion in the story. It was a very serious story.

Oh, and I loved following Spiker/Maria accross town.

Well anyway, I'm glad you posted the bios for everybody to see. Interesting, while you added a load of characters and make no reference to the ones in game, in my missions I add almost no new characters, and most of the already in game characters don't even appear until later on in the story! It seems we took opposite approaches

I actually like that you added alot of new personalities to the game, but it just comes with some unfortunate disadvantages. First, I have trouble keeping up with who is who (obviously that is my problem, though), and second, it feels like Avatar when I play the mission; that is, it feels like I am transported to an alternate reality where nothing has any effect or connection to the "real" world. I really love the characters and their stories, but for your next mission series, my only suggestion would be that you add more of a connection to the characters to the in-game story and characters (e.g. Maria and Kuo went to high school, or something). I think that would help with remembering the characters. That's just my 2 cents.

Re: jedicam10's Missions: Creations from the Servbot Workshop!

I appreciate the feedback. It's nice to have some critical feedback from time to time as well. I understand why you felt that way and am now taking it into consideration for my next narrative series. I'm working on fewer characters with more devolopment. I want to become a better story teller so this really helps. Thanks GameForce!

Re: jedicam10's Missions: Creations from the Servbot Workshop!

Hey guys! I've published a new mission! It's called Karma Police. It's best played with Evil Karma. It addresses the issue of the ethics of Infamous Cole, with fun combat and humorous dialogue. If there are any fans of Japanese manga out there, they may notice similarities to the manga/anime series Yu Yu Hakusho. I'm entering it into the Narrative Mission Contest and would really appreciate feedback and ratings. Enjoy!
