Uncharted

A few weeks ago, I was playing Uncharted 3's single player campaign when the character sounds & background music stopped suddenly, but I could still hear other things like gunfire & grenades. Then when I tried to quit the game to see if I could fix it, it got stuck: the ring in the corner was still rotating, so it wasn't frozen. But I left it for a while & nothing happened. So I quit the game & instead of taking me back to the PS3's xmb, the PS3 restarted instead. I've tried cleaning the disc but ever since I've had problems.

It's always the same, the game will work fine for about 5 mins, then the sound cuts out, then a minute or two later, it goes to a loading screen which leads me nowhere. However, the game appears to work on my brothers' brand new PS3 (but I didn't update the game when I tried it, so it's still 1.00)

I'm using a PS3 slim & the game's update is 1.02. If anyone could help, I would appreciate it. I'll keep experimenting other things to see what happens.

Hey dgarr14,

Sorry to hear of your troubles.

What you can try to do to replicate what your brother's is doing, is to delete the game data and reinstall. This will remove the updates as well.

On the XMB, go to Game -> Game Data Utility, then find Uncharted 3 and press triangle and delete.

(This will only delete the game data, and not your saved files)

You can then reinstall from the disc and see if it's any different.
